A summer prep checklist to keep your car cool, safe, and running smoothly through the heat.
Summer in Lebanon means temperatures above 35°C, coastal humidity, and heavy weekend traffic to the mountains. Your car needs to be ready for all of it.
1. Cooling System Check
Have your coolant level and condition checked. Old coolant loses its protective properties and can lead to overheating. Make sure the radiator, hoses, and water pump are in good condition. A failing cooling system in August traffic can leave you stranded.
2. A/C Service
Get your A/C inspected and recharged if needed before the heat hits. Replace the cabin air filter for maximum airflow and clean air. A well-functioning A/C also reduces driver fatigue on long summer drives.
3. Battery Health
Heat kills batteries faster than cold. If your battery is over 3 years old, have it tested. Summer heat accelerates internal degradation, and a weak battery combined with heavy A/C use is a recipe for a no-start situation.
4. Tires and Tire Pressure
Hot roads increase tire pressure naturally. Check your tire pressure in the morning when tires are cold, and set it to the manufacturer’s recommendation. Overinflated tires on hot asphalt wear faster in the center and have less grip. Also check for any cracks or bulges — heat makes existing damage worse.
